5.3 Common Upload Issues and Troubleshooting

Modified on Wed, 23 Jul at 10:27 AM

Whether you’re uploading evidence on mobile or desktop, a slow or failed upload can disrupt training workflows. While LAAMP is designed to work seamlessly across devices, connectivity and browser or device issues can occasionally affect performance.

This guide covers general troubleshooting tips for Android, iOS, and Desktop browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge), with a focus on improving reliability when uploading evidence like images, videos, documents, and signatures.

Mobile Device Troubleshooting (Android & iOS)

1. Restart the App

  • Close and reopen the LAAMP app. Your data is saved locally, so nothing will be lost.

  • Restarting often resolves temporary memory or background process conflicts.

2. Check App Permissions

  • Ensure LAAMP has access to:

    • Camera

    • Microphone

    • Storage/Photos

  • On iOS: Settings → LAAMP → Enable permissions

  • On Android: Settings → Apps → LAAMP → Permissions

3. Clear Background Apps

  • Close unused apps to free up system memory and bandwidth, especially when recording video or audio.

4. Use Airplane Mode Strategically

  • If working offline, enable Airplane Mode to prevent connection disruptions.

  • Reconnect only when you have stable Wi-Fi, then open LAAMP and press Retry.

5. Update the App

  • Visit the App Store or Google Play and make sure you’re using the latest version of LAAMP.

Desktop Troubleshooting (Chrome, Safari, Edge)

1. Use a Supported Browser

  • LAAMP officially supports:

    • Google Chrome

    • Safari (latest version)

    • Microsoft Edge

  • Avoid using Internet Explorer or other unsupported browsers.

2. Clear Your Browser Cache

  • Old cached data can interfere with file uploads.

  • In Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear Browsing Data → Cached Images & Files

  • In Safari: Preferences → Advanced → Enable “Show Develop menu” → Develop → Empty Caches

  • In Edge: Settings → Privacy → Clear Browsing Data → Cached Data

3. Disable Browser Extensions

  • Ad blockers, script blockers, and VPN extensions can interrupt uploads. Try disabling them temporarily.

4. Check File Size & Format

  • Image, video, and document uploads may be rejected if too large or in unsupported formats.

  • Recommended formats:

    • Images: JPG, PNG

    • Videos: MP4

    • Documents: PDF, DOCX, XLSX

5. Refresh or Restart

  • Refresh the LAAMP page (F5 or Command + R).

  • If issues persist, restart the browser or computer.

Connectivity Best Practices

  • Always upload large files over stable Wi-Fi, not mobile data or public hotspots.

  • Avoid areas with weak signal or intermittent internet.

  • For mobile users, reconnect only when fully in range of a reliable connection, then press “Retry” and wait for the upload to complete.
