4.2.2 Troubleshooting a Practical Assessment Upload

Modified on Tue, 8 Jul at 2:35 PM

If you’re experiencing trouble uploading a Practical Assessment in LAAMP—especially when using mobile or tablet devices—don’t worry. LAAMP is designed to store your data safely offline until it can be uploaded reliably.

This guide walks you through simple steps to resolve upload issues and ensure your assessment syncs successfully.

What to Expect During Upload

When you submit a Practical Assessment:

  • Evidence (photos, videos, signatures), responses, and timestamps are queued for upload.

  • A cloud icon with an upward arrow appears in the top-right corner.

  • A number next to the icon shows how many items are currently being uploaded.

  • This number counts down as items sync successfully.

If upload stalls or fails, the Retry option and connection indicators will help you resolve the issue.

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Close and reopen the LAAMP app

Your data is safe. Closing the app will not erase your assessment or responses.

  2. Check your internet connection

Only activate Wi-Fi or mobile data when you’re in range of a stable and reliable connection. Unstable connections are the most common cause of stuck uploads.

  3. Tap the “Retry” button

Found in the top-right corner of the Practical Assessments page, this forces LAAMP to attempt the upload again.

  4. Watch the flashing Wi-Fi icon

    • A flashing Wi-Fi symbol means you have a poor connection.

    • Wait until this icon changes to the cloud with an arrow.

    • The countdown next to the cloud shows how many items are left to upload.

Best Practices for Offline Assessments

If you’re working in the field or in a low-signal area:

  • Before heading out:

    • Log in while connected to Wi-Fi

    • Download the Practical Assessments you intend to complete

  • During assessment:

    • Switch your device to Airplane Mode to avoid connection interruptions

    • Complete the assessment as normal

  • After assessment:

    • Reconnect to reliable Wi-Fi

    • Open LAAMP and press Retry

    • Wait for uploads to complete before closing the app

? LAAMP is built to work offline first—just follow the correct sync process when you’re back online.
