4.2.1 Content Experts in LAAMP

Modified on Tue, 8 Jul at 2:28 PM

Content Experts in LAAMP are experienced users who have previously completed a specific Practical Assessment and remain currently competent. These individuals can be designated to support or advise on assessments and training delivery for their area of expertise.

What Is a Content Expert?

A Content Expert is a user who:

  • Has completed a specific Practical Assessment in LAAMP

  • Is currently marked as Competent

  • Has been manually selected as a Content Expert by a Coordinator or Administrator

Once designated, they appear in the Content Expert List associated with that Practical Assessment.

Why Use Content Experts?

Designating Content Experts allows organisations to:

  • Identify experienced staff who can help guide others

  • Assign mentors or workplace trainers with proven competence

  • Support knowledge-sharing across teams and sites

This is especially useful for:

  • Onboarding new users

  • Informal skill reinforcement

  • Practical coaching in complex or high-risk tasks

How to Assign a Content Expert

To assign a user as a Content Expert:

  1. Ensure the user has completed the specific Practical Assessment and holds a current Completed status for the Course.

  2. Navigate to the user’s profile via the User List (requires Coordinator or above permission).

  3. Locate the section related to the user’s assessment history or competencies.

  4. Find the relevant Practical Assessment.

  5. Select the star option to mark the user as a Content Expert for that assessment.

Once assigned, this user will appear in the Content Expert List for that Practical Assessment wherever it is used in the system.

Important Notes

  • A user must remain competent in the assessment to retain Content Expert status.

  • Content Expert assignments are manual and specific to each Practical Assessment.

  • Removing a user’s competency will also remove them from the Content Expert List for that item.
