Practical Assessments in LAAMP are designed to verify a user’s ability to perform real-world tasks or apply learned skills in a work environment. These assessments are typically conducted in-person and rely on evidence capture such as photos, videos, or assessor feedback.
This page outlines how to access, conduct, and complete a Practical Assessment in LAAMP.
Who Can Conduct Practical Assessments?
Only users with the following permissions can access and complete Practical Assessments:
Assessor
Crew Assessor
Administrator
Learners cannot complete Practical Assessments on their own. The process is Assessor-led.
Accessing Practical Assessments
To conduct an assessment:
Log into LAAMP as an Assessor or Administrator.
From the Dashboard or Side Menu, go to Practical Assessments.
You will see a list of users and assessments available for your Team and assigned location(s).
Select the relevant Assessment and open it.
? You can conduct assessments online or offline using the LAAMP mobile app.
Assessment Workflow
Meet with the candidate in person.
Open the Practical Assessment in LAAMP.
Proceed through each question or evidence item, guiding the user where required.
Capture required evidence such as:
Images (e.g., PPE worn correctly)
Videos (e.g., demonstrating safe equipment use)
Audio clips or notes
Digital signatures (Candidate Assessor, and Content Expert)
Review all responses for completeness.
On the final question, click Submit.
? Wait for the system to sync fully before closing the app or moving on. A successful sync confirms the assessment has been uploaded for verification.
Post-Assessment Steps
After submission:
The assessment enters a “Awaiting Verification” status.
A Coordinator, Authoriser, or Administrator must review and verify the responses.
If required, it may also undergo Authorisation before being marked Complete.
Tips for Effective Practical Assessments
Ensure all evidence items are collected clearly—retakes can cause delays.
Use offline mode in remote areas and sync once internet is available.
Communicate clearly with candidates to explain what’s being assessed and why.
