Modified on Tue, 8 Jul at 11:35 AM

Creating and managing Training Pathways in LAAMP enables structured, progressive training delivery that aligns with your workforce needs. Whether you’re building an onboarding track or a safety certification journey, this page outlines how to efficiently create, edit, publish, and maintain your Pathways.

Creating a New Pathway

Only users with the Create Training Pathway permission can initiate new Pathways.

To create a new Training Pathway:

  1. From the Side Menu, select Training Pathways.

  2. Click the “New” button to begin.

  3. You will land on the Details step, where you must:

    • Add a Title (required to continue).

    • Write a Description to explain the purpose of the pathway.

    • Upload an Image (optional) to visually represent the pathway.

    • Use the Preview pane to review the pathway card appearance.

  4. Click Save as Draft to save your progress, or Next to move forward.

Tip: The Next button will only activate once a valid Title is entered.

Targeting the Pathway

Targeting defines who will see and be assigned the Pathway. You can leave it open to all users, or limit it to specific groups.

On the Targeting step, you can:

  • Click “Add specific” to open a Find Locations modal.

  • Search and select one or more Locations.

  • Further refine by selecting Roles and Teams via dropdowns:

    • “Specific Role?” → opens the Find Roles modal.

    • “Specific Team?” → opens the Find Teams modal.

If no target is selected, the Pathway defaults to all users across all locations.

All targeting selections are shown in a list with:

  • Expand/collapse options

  • A 3-dot menu for editing or removing selections

Adding Competencies to the Pathway

On the Pathway step:

  1. Click “Add a Competency” to open the Find a Competency modal.

  2. Only Competencies that match your targeting are shown.

  3. Search and select one published Competency.

  4. Click OK to add it to the pathway.

Already-included Competencies appear greyed out with a green “Already included” label.

After adding Competencies, you can:

  • Drag-and-drop to change the order of delivery

  • Use the Replace or Remove options from each Competency’s tile

  • Bulk-select Competencies to delete using the checkbox and delete button

Saving, Drafting, and Publishing

Throughout the process, you can:

  • Save as Draft – saves work-in-progress without publishing.

  • Back – return to the previous step.

  • Three Dots Menu – allows deletion of the entire pathway (if permitted).

When at least one Competency is included:

  • The Publish button becomes active.

  • Clicking Publish triggers a confirmation modal with two choices:

    • Distribute Now – go straight to the distribution page

    • Later – save and return to the Training Pathways list

Managing Existing Pathways

On the Training Pathways page, users with Edit or Delete permissions can:

  • Search existing pathways

  • Filter by status

  • Sort by last modified

  • Click any Pathway to edit it

  • Open the 3-dot menu on a Pathway to delete it

When editing, all steps (Details, Targeting, Pathway) are revisitable and fully editable. Any changes can be saved as a draft or re-published.
