How To: Update iPad to latest iOS version.

Modified on Fri, 21 Jun, 2019 at 1:31 PM

LAAMP only supports the latest version of iOS.  At the time of writing, this is is iOS 12.3.

If you are running an earlier version, you must update your iPad to use the most current version.  This guide will outline how to determine which version of iOS your iPad is running, and how to update it to the most current version if it is outdated.

You must have the iPad connected to the internet for this guide.

1) Select the Settings Application.

This is done by either tapping on the Settings Application, or searching for the Settings Application.  If you know where the Settings Application is, tap on it.

If you do not know where the settings app is, we want to search for it.  By swiping down from the top, you can bring up the Search bar to find Applications on your iPad.

Typing "settings" using the on screen keyboard will bring up the Settings Application on screen.  From here, we want to tap the Settings Application.

2) Navigate to the Software Update page in the Settings Application

First, we want to go into the General settings. This is done by tapping on the General tab on the left.

Once we have selected the General settings tab, we want to select the Software Update button on the right.

From here, we will see one of two panels.  Either, we will see that our software is up to date, or we will see the iOS update panel.

If your iPad is up to date, you are ready to use LAAMP.

If your iPad is not running the latest version of iOS, the iPad must be updated.  The iPad will download and prepare the latest version of iOS.

Once the update is downloaded to the iPad, it must be installed.  Downloading the latest version of iOS may take some time.  When the update is ready to be installed, select the Install Now button.

The update will be verified before the installation process takes place.

The iPad may restart several times during the installation process.  Once the update is installed, the iPad will notify you that the device has been updated.

Congratulations, your ipad is updated and you are now ready to use LAAMP.
