User management in LAAMP is essential for maintaining a structured, role-based training environment. Users represent employees, contractors, supervisors, or anyone who needs to access training, complete assessments, or manage others within the system.
This page outlines how to add, edit, and manage users, and how to ensure they are correctly linked to Roles, Locations, Teams, and Permissions.
Who Can Add or Manage Users?
Users with the following permissions can manage user accounts:
Administrator
Coordinator
Coordinator Support (with limited access)
Requestor (Can create Users, however the User will not be active until Approved via the Approval List)
Adding a New User
To add a new user:
Go to the User List via the Side Menu.
Click the “+ Create User” button.
Fill in the required fields:
First and Last Name
Username (we recommend "First Letter of First Name+Last Name+"-Your Company Name")
User Type
Email address (if they are required to receive training notifications)
Assign the user to:
Location(s) – determines what training they receive
Role(s) – determines competency requirements
Team(s) – for team-specific tracking or targeting
Select appropriate Permission level(s).
Click Save.
The user will automatically receive an email invitation to join LAAMP. If not, you can resend it manually later.
Editing an Existing User
To edit user details:
Search for the user in the User List.
Click their name to open the User Profile.
From here, you can:
Update contact details
Change their profile image
Reset their password
Assign or remove Roles, Teams, and Locations
Update Permissions
Changes are applied immediately and do not require re-inviting the user.
Managing Permissions
Assign permissions based on what the user needs to access:
Permission | Access Level |
|---|---|
User | Basic learner access |
Assessor | Can conduct Practical Assessments |
Coordinator | Can manage users and verify assessments |
Authoriser | Can authorise assessments |
Administrator | Full platform access |
Publisher | Can create/edit Courses and Competencies |
Crew Leader / Requestor | May be used for specialised workflows (e.g. logbooks) |
Resending Invitations
If a user did not receive or did not act on their welcome email:
Go to their profile
Click “Resend Invitation”
Confirm the action
The system will send a new temporary login link to their registered email address.
Best Practices
Always assign at least one Location and Role—these drive training assignment
Use consistent naming conventions for Teams and Roles to simplify filtering
Periodically review inactive users and remove or archive as needed
