Overview
The LAAMP Logbook feature allows learners to record detailed information related to their training, which can then be reviewed and approved by assigned approvers. The feature supports structured input from publishers and gives users and approvers the tools necessary to manage and validate learning experiences efficiently.
1. For Users
1.1 Preconditions
The user has completed training in LAAMP.
A logbook related to the training has been published and made available.
1.2 Accessing the Logbook
Navigate to the course you have completed.
Click on the Logbook tab or section.
1.3 Using the Logbook Interface
The Logbook is organised into Chapters and Pages, as set by the Publisher (just like a regular Course).
One page per Logbook may be flagged as Reoccurring, allowing multiple entries.
1.4 Completing an Entry
Select the Reoccurring Page within a Chapter.
Fill in the required fields. These may include:
Free Text
Text Fields
Radio Buttons (Single Answer)
Checkboxes (Multi Answer)
Dropdown (options set by Publisher)
Media Capture (Image, Audio, Video, Signature)
Date/Time (Start, End)
Duration
Click New Entry to begin.
Once filled, click Submit Entry to send it to the Approver.
1.5 Managing Entries
Edit Entry: Users are unable to modify previous entries once approved.
Duplicate Entry: Clones an existing entry for reuse. Must be submitted like a new entry.
2. For Publishers
2.1 Preconditions
None
2.2 Creating a Logbook Structure
Navigate to the course's Publishing interface.
Set course metadata:
Title (Text)
Description (Text)
Requires Verification/Approval (Checkbox)
Never Expires / Expiry Timeframe (Checkbox / Text)
Type: Select "Logbook"
2.3 Creating Chapters
Add a Chapter:
Title (Text)
Icon (Optional)
Background Image (Optional)
2.4 Creating Pages
Add a Page within a Chapter:
Page Title (Text)
Reoccurring (Checkbox for repeatable entries)
Add input fields:
Free Text
Text
Radio Button (Single Answer)
Checkbox (Multi Answer)
Dropdown (with publisher-defined options)
Image, Audio, Video, Signature Capture
Start Time / End Time (Date Time)
Duration
Assign an "Approver" permission type for the reoccurring page.
2.5 Publishing the Logbook
After structure creation, publish the logbook to make it available to users.
3. For Approvers
3.1 Preconditions
Logbook has been published.
User has completed one or more entries.
3.2 Reviewing Entries
Approvers only see entries assigned to their Location/permissions.
Entries appear as Read-Only except for actions:
Approve Entry: Locks the entry for the user.
Reject Entry: Sends entry back for user amendment. Requires comment.
Submit Logbook: Locks all entries and sends for final sign-off.
3.3 Actions Summary
Action | Description |

Approve Entry | Finalises an entry, making it non-editable by the user |
Reject Entry | Returns entry to user with a comment for correction |
Submit Logbook | Sends completed logbook for final approval |
4. For Coordinators
4.1 Visibility
Responsible for final Verification of the Logbook (this workflow has remained the same).
Coordinators can access and view historic logbooks, including approved and completed entries.
Useful for audits, compliance, and oversight.
